The files you record in OneDrive are available online at: OneDrive.com and off-line (in case your computer is not connected to the Internet) on your computer. When you connect to the internet, OneDrive updates online versions of the changes you made off-line.

Off-line files are useful when you do not have an Internet connection but can also take up space on your computer.

By including files on demand, you can choose which files are always available locally on your device and which files are available only when you are online (when connected to the Internet).
